As a member of The Screen Actor’s Guild and Actor’s Equity Association, Sara soon expanded her resume into directing and producing for the theatre, as well as teaching and mentoring young actors. Among these were Frankie Muniz, and her own children Ira David Wood and Evan Rachel Wood.
In 1997, Sara was asked to join John Homa and Andrew Magarian at prestigious Hollywood acting studio, The Shop/Simply Acting. During her 5 year tenure teaching at The Shop, Sara was instrumental in developing many talented professionals including Erika Christensen, James Lafferty, Josh Peck, Camille Winbush, Samaire Armstrong and Adam Brody, as well as continuing to guide and support daughter Evan’s now burgeoning career.
Sara has spent literally thousands of hours on film sets, observing directors such as Ron Howard, Edward Zwick and Catherine Hardwicke, as well as actors Edward Norton, Cate Blanchett, Joan Allen and Kevin Costner, giving her a unique insight into the dynamics of film and television acting.
Most recently, Sara has become involved in Directing, Producing, and Talent Management, as well as continuing to coach privately and on-set, and offering guidance to actors and stage parents of all ages.
